UNIT 3
VOCABULARY
Brain: the mass of nerve tissue in the head of humans and animals that is the center of the nervous system.
Chest: the front portion of the body enclosed by the ribs; thorax.
Skin: the tissue that is the outer covering of a human or animal body, esp. when it is soft and flexible.
Wrist: the part of the end of the arm where it joins the hand.
EXTRA VOCABULARY
Algae: any of many groups of one-celled organisms containing chlorophyll and usually living in watery or damp environments.
Fuel: matter that can be burned to create heat or power, such as coal, wood, oil, or gas.
Nut: a dry fruit made up of a kernel that may be eaten, and enclosed in a woody or leathery shell.
Survey: a general view, description, course of study, etc

VOCABULARY
Pocket money: a small amount of money, as for occasional expenses.
Prize money:money offered, won, or received in prizes.
Notes:a certificate, as of a government or a bank, accepted as money.
EXTRA VOCABULARY
Annoyed:to disturb or bother (a person) in a way that displeases, troubles, or slightly irritates.
Messy:dirty, untidy, or disorderly.

VOCABULARY
Elderly:approaching old age.
Retire :to (cause to) give up or withdraw from a job or career, usually because of age.
Toddler:a child who has just started to walk but may be unsteady on his or her feet.

Judge:a person who makes a decision in a competition, contest, or matter at issue.
